Assistant Principal Stringer

Mr. Stringer is thrilled to join the Westerly community as the new Assistant Principal of Westerly Middle School.

Transitioning from a successful career in corporate and outdoor education, Mr. Stringer brings a rich background of diverse experiences to his role. He earned his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education Social Studies from Rhode Island College, followed by a Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Providence College. Recently, he achieved Level 1 certification as a Kingian Nonviolence and Conflict Resolution trainer through the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island.

In his previous role as a High School Social Studies teacher, Department Head, and WIN Block Coordinator, Mr. Stringer excelled in creating collaborative programs with community partners. Notably, he established an international partnership with St. Peter’s Immaculata Youth Center in Belfast, Ireland, which allowed students to engage in international travel, explore different cultures, and collaborate with global peers to address local issues.

Although Mr. Stringer is new to Westerly, he resides nearby in South Kingstown and is excited to be part of a community with such a strong commitment to education. Outside of school, you might find him enjoying paddleboarding or playing disc golf at local courses.
